Indeed, lamps present only a minor part of the vehicle, but they are of key importance. As far as safety is concerned, it is important that you are able to see and be seen, not only at night.

Silverstar

Thanks to the exceptional technology and depending on the headlight, the Osram Silverstar lamps illuminate the road with up to 50 % brighter light than the corresponding standard halogen lamps in the crucial zone 50 to 75 m in front of the vehicle. With their modern design, which includes the silver cap (H4/H7), the Light@day vehicle lamps are ideal for clear-glass headlights.

CoolBlue

When choosing the colour of the headlight bulbs, many drivers decide for the blue lamps due to more than merely aesthetic reasons. The Osram Cool Blue lamps with the colour temperature of 4000K are classified as the superior blue lamps. The bluish white, high contrasting light is more attractive because it comes closer to the natural light and is therefore friendlier to the eye than standard lamps. Thus it has an effect, similar to the xenon light. Safety is important as well; drivers using the Osram Cool Blue lamps become more visible. In comparison to the ordinary headlight lamps, the Cool Blue lamps create an effect of 20 % brighter light on the road and at the periphery. Some lamp types really attract attention. Those equipped with silver caps match entirely to the reflectors of clear-glass headlights.

The latest technological achievements have been applied in the development of the innovative Xenarc lamp. Unlike the standard vehicle lamps, the Xenarc lamps create an exceptionally bright beam of light with the help of the electronically guided gas discharge. The said beam creates twice as much light as the halogen lamp filament - with 300 % greater light efficienty. Thanks to the colour temperature, which is closer to the daylight temperature (4100K), the light of the Xenarc lamp is whiter and brighter than the light of the standard halogen lamp (3200K).

The more distinctive light of the Xenarc lamps also ensures greater contrast on and by the road. Road obstacles and other dangers are thus seen better and sooner, which is also true of the road signs and people on the road. This enables a safer and more relaxed drive, especially on long nocturnal journeys.

The new Xenarc D1 system has a much improved connection between the lamp and the electronic controlling mechanism. The starter is now located at the very base of the lamp, which means that the controlling mechanism can be replaced separately from the lamp itself. This adaptable approach signifies that in the future it will be possible to equip or upgrade more and more vehicles with the Xenarc lamps.

In the EU it is not allowed to use these lamps on the road for safety and legal reasons. This means that one is not permitted to use them in >standard< and additional headlight if one uses the vehicle on the highway.
