Safety-warning vest YES or NO?

The use of the vest differs from one country to another according to the valid traffic laws. It is mandatory in some European countries, such as Austria, the Chech Republic, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain. It is necessary to distinguish the double liability of using the safety-warning vest
- use of the safety-warning vest on every exit from the vehicle on the road, for example, when having engine trouble, a traffic accident or when making a stop,
- owning the safety -warning vest as a component part of the mandatory equipment of the motor vehicle.

This is double liability, which is also twice-penalized!!!!

The use also differs according to who is obliged to wear the vest. Somewhere, the use is mandatory for all drivers or individually for drivers of personal vehicles, lorry drivers and bus drivers. Passengers are usually only advised to use it. Likewise, the safety-warning vest is not mandatory for motorcyclists. The safety-warning vest must have the European mark EN 471. The vest can be orange, red or yellow.

Croatia
On 1.1.2006 a new law came into force on the territory of Croatia, which determines the double liability of using the safety-warning vest (when exiting the vehicle on the road and a component part of the mandatory equipment). The use is mandatory for all drivers. At present, a fine for vehicles registered in Croatia and vehicles from abroad is not foreseen. Thus, a policeman can only warn you on eventual examination.

Germany
In Germany, the use of the safety-warning vest is mandatory when exiting the vehicle on the road. This holds true only for lorry drivers.

Austria
In Austria, the double liability is fixed for the use of the safety-warning vest (when exiting the vehicle, a component part of the mandatory equipment). The use is mandatory for all drivers of personal vehicles. The driver can be fined from €14 to €36.

Italy
In Italy, the use of the safety-warning vest is mandatory when exiting the vehicle on the road, it holds true for all drivers.
